6/5/25 Barran Liebman Recognizes Exceptional Marks in Chambers & Partners’ 2025 USA Guide

Barran Liebman is proud to continue as a Band 1 firm in Chambers and Partners’ national rankings for 2025. Every year, Chambers & Partners researchers oversee client and attorney interviews in order to determine individual attorneys and law firms who surpass qualities that are most crucial for clients. As one of the longest ranking firms on the list at 18 years, Barran Liebman is delighted to once more obtain Band 1 recognition in Labor & Employment Law.

 

In addition to the firm’s prominent expertise within the Labor & Employment practice area, Barran Liebman’s pursuit to lead by example is noted in the firm’s commitment to clients, the community, and the legal profession as an entire. In this year’s rankings, Chambers stated that “Barran Liebman is a standout boutique undertaking a broad range of labor and employment issues, including deep expertise in sophisticated litigation, labor relations, collective bargaining and unfair labor practices.” A client described how “Barran Liebman has been successful in negotiating resolution on a variety of complex issues for us as well as providing guidance in navigating the challenges." Paula Barran has held Band 1 recognition since 2003 and Edwin Harnden, Barran Liebman’s Co-Managing Partner, has held Band 1 recognition since 2009. This is the highest honor awarded by Chambers & Partners, and Barran Liebman is proud to identify these distinguished partners maintain this honor for an additional year in a row. One client enthused that “Paula is extraordinary regardless of the issue, and she is outstandingly responsive.” Edwin Harnden was also individually acknowledged as having “respect for his long-standing experience in employment litigation and dispute resolution, especially in discrimination matters.”

 

Barran Liebman is proud to announce that Iris Tilley has been recognized with Band 2 recognition for her hard work in the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation practice area. According to Chambers, “Iris Tilley's wealth of experience in the employee benefits field is frequently called upon by employers. 

 

The firm is delighted to report that Amy Angel has been recognized in Band 4 of all labor and employment attorneys. As stated by an individual, “Amy Angel frequently handles workplace investigations and litigation involving race-based discrimination and harassment.” And “is an exceptional lawyer and always provides sound legal advice." This is an additional year that Shayda Le and Andrew Schpak have been named in Band 4. As voiced by a client, “Shayda is a tremendous lawyer." Chambers reviewed Shayda as “an increasingly recognized employment specialist who handles wrongful termination lawsuits and workplace investigations, as well as non-disclosure violations.” Andrew’s expertise was mentioned by Chambers as a “co-managing partner of the firm with an extensive practice in race and religious discrimination lawsuits.” Andrew’s skills were also complimented by clients, one of which described Andrew as “very knowledgeable and a great partner.”

 

Last but not least, this is the second year that Chris Morgan has been named as an “Up & Coming” attorney. In the ranking commentary, it was described that “Chris offers terrific client support.”
