Avery Tunstill is a summer law clerk at Barran Liebman who is currently completing her J.D. at University of Washington School of Law. As a law clerk, Avery supports attorneys with case preparation, assists with legal research, managing case files, and developing materials for client trainings.
Avery is a rising 3L and the Associate Editor in Chief of Washington’s flagship legal publication, the Washington Law Review. She comes to us following an externship with Justice Gordon McCloud of the Washington State Supreme Court. Following her time “up north,” she looks forward to continuing her legal career in her hometown of Portland, Oregon.
Prior to law school, Avery pursued her undergraduate studies at DePaul University, graduating with a B.A. in Political Science, with minors in Economics and History. During her undergraduate years, Avery worked as a law clerk and paralegal for a local firm, dealing with domestic relations and civil matters.
