Public Sector Practice

For more than twenty years, Barran Liebman attorneys have represented Oregon and Washington public sector entities – state, county and city governments, ports, and special purpose districts – in labor and employment matters. We pride ourselves on providing practical problem-solving for even the most complex workplace issues.  We understand that employment and labor laws are broad and affect nearly every aspect of the employer-employee relationship. We work closely with employers to provide advice in areas such as hiring, wage and hour, discipline and performance, the disability interactive process, and leave laws.  With our unparalleled experience, we assist public entities in navigating local, state, and federal law, while understanding the complex issues unique to the public sector, including constitutional issues, working with represented employees, and public accountability.
